Lawyer Laps The Loch For Charity
A PCB Solicitor has accomplished a challenge of a lifetime after completing a marathon in the beautiful Scottish Highlands in aid of two worthwhile causes.
David Adams, a Solicitor at a PCB, undertook the 26 mile Loch Ness Marathon late last year in great time, passing the finishing line in just over four hours. By successfully completing the challenge, David has raised more than £265 so far which will be split between Severn Hospice and the campaign to fund baby heart monitors at Princess Royal Hospital in Telford. The marathon saw David circuit the world famous Loch Ness before finishing at the Queen's Park Athletics Stadium in Inverness, despite aggravating a leg injury at the 16 mile stage.
David Adams said "As I have already completed a few half marathons, taking on a full marathon seemed a natural step to take. I chose the Loch Ness Marathon as I had never been to Scotland, I thought it would be a picturesque way to spend four hours, whilst raising money for two very worthwhile causes.
"The marathon itself was fantastic - there was a lot of camaraderie between the runners and the crowd which made for a great atmosphere and definitely spurred me on through the last couple of miles and although it was an a amazing experience, I'm not sure it is one I want to repeat! I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored me, including a number of my colleagues at PCB Solicitors.
