RSPB and PCB
26th May, 2009 to 2nd Dec, 2009
RSPB Pin Badges are a brilliant way to get involved in raising funds for conservation. Why ? Because they’re easy to manage, you can fit “minding” the boxes into your normal routine and you don’t need to be a conservation expert !
The RSPB, as a charity, does not have any money of “its own”. At any one time, they hold only two to three months’ operating costs in reserve as they are committed to tackling today’s problems now. They must fundraise for all the activities from scratch every year and are dependent upon voluntary support to do this.
Maggie Sanderson, secretary at PCB solicitors in Ludlow, started helping in this way and has now developed the role to that of Area Co-ordinator in the Midlands Region. Along with several other co-ordinators she supports and recruits pin badge collectors for the region, with the assistance of the Regional Community Fundraising Officer, Susan Rees based in Banbury.
Ways you can help:-
The great thing about fundraising is that there are so many ways to help raise money, and it’s fun too !
Whether you want to learn new skills, meet new people or simply use your time to do something worthwhile for wildlife, there is something to suit everyone.
