Training Contracts 2019
PCB Solicitors LLP are committed to training and development, as part of that commitment we are pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for a training contract to commence on 2 September 2019. Potential applicants will have completed their LPC by late July 2019.
Applications close on the 30th April 2019.

Training contacts or Period of Recognised Training are usually 2 years in duration and you would be expected to demonstrate legal knowledge and practical experience in at least three distinct areas of law with a minimum of 3 months in each department (seats). Consultation with the successful applicant regarding which areas of work with take place with the training principal and supervisors' prior to the commencement of the training contract . You will need to complete a minimum of 1 transactional and 2 contentious practice areas to satisfy your training requirements. By dividing your seats, this will give you the best opportunity to have an in-depth and authentic experience that should enable you to make an informed decision about your future career and/or specialisation. PCB Solicitors LLP comprises 6 branch offices throughout Shropshire and Mid Wales, giving you the possibility to rotate between different locations and therefore giving you a different experience.
Throughout your training contact you will be provided with all the support you will need to succeed, including training, practical experience to apply the law, engage in client relationships and where you will be assigned an experienced supervisor for each seat to ensure your development and progress.
Training contracts enables the firm to assess your aptitude for a job as a solicitor following the training period and you will be required to attend and satisfactorily complete the Professional Skills Course before being admitted and any other requirement as set by the SRA.
PCB Solicitors are looking for well rounded and self motivated individuals who demonstrate their aptitude and application of law, ability to form client relationships, fit with the firm's philosophy and demonstrate their willingness to assist others.
At PCB Solicitors we understand the commitment of both you as a potential trainee, and the needs of the firm, so in order to appoint the best applicant we have a two phase interview process. The first being an interview so that we can get to know and understand you personally and secondly a Legal Knowledge Assessment test, where we will ask that you write a piece that will highlight the depth of legal knowledge that you have learned, how well you are able to articulate the law to both another legal professional and a client.

References and evidence of successful completion of the LPC will be required

Successful applicants will be notified and a further interview with the Training Principle and supervisors' will be arranged
Contracts and registration with the SRA will be completed and registration with the SRA takes approximately one month
