Court Martials

A Court Martial takes place in a Military Court Centre for service personnel. The proceedings can be complex and varied, so it is important to know that your legal team has the experience to handle proceedings on your behalf.

Whether assistance is required when attending interviews by service police or civilian police after an arrest or voluntarily attendance, representation at disciplinary hearings, and / or assistance during Court Martial proceedings, our team is on hand and here to help.

Due to our agreement with the Legal Aid Agency, we are able to offer not only independent legal advice during police interviews, but it is completely free of charge.

Members of the team are well-versed in the defence of serving and former members of the armed forces, with a diverse range of case experience including Court Martial hearings and police interviews (both civilian and military). They can advise on all criminal matters including murder, assault, sexual offences, fraud and other specific offences, as well as assist those facing charges with applying for Armed Forces Legal Aid, which covers the costs of defending such charges.

A conviction for both criminal and service offences could lead to a period of Service Detention, dismissal from the Service, and/or imprisonment. Such a conviction may not only affect a career in the Service, but also pension rights and entitlements, which is why experienced legal representation is essential.

We are happy to advise you on all stages of the proceedings, from potential service police interviews through to the conclusion of proceedings.
