Richard has over 20 years of experience acting on behalf of clients in a variety of areas of litigation. 

He has represented thousands of private individuals over the years and has also acted for commercial clients including one of the largest supermarket chains in the UK. He is happy to advise on matters of any value having acted on many occasions for clients in multimillion pound court proceedings.

Work and Client

General disputes arising out of breach of contract, misrepresentation, negligence and nuisance.

 

Land disputes including adverse possession, obtaining and compliance with prescriptive easements, disputes involving the Boundary Wall Act 1996 and the Access to Neighbouring Land Act 1992.

 

Contentious probate matters involving cases brought under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 as well as cases involving allegations of undue influence and lack of testamentary capacity.

Residential and commercial property disputes including claims brought under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.

Insurance law from technical contractual interpretation disputes to cases involving injury and/or loss.

Route to PCB

Richard worked in Leeds for a number of Legal 500 law firms before moving to London where he managed a successful International Litigation department for a leading national law practice.

After 10 years in London he settled in Shropshire to begin a family and joined PCB Solicitors in 2021. Richard became Head of Dispute Resolution in April 2024.
